This is Jennifer and I am here to tell all my friends about a rare disease called Mesothelioma that occurs very rarely and attacks only a handful of people who are related to asbestos works, whether directly or indirectly. The main reason for the occurrence of the disease is inhalation of asbestos dust particles for a long time that might happen during the process of its manufacture. My reason of discussing about this uncommon disease is to awaken the general awareness among the working with asbestos, because after all it’s a kind of cancer. The abnormal development of malignant cells in the mesothelium is one of its chief characteristics. A CT scan or an X-ray can help in its diagnosis but for confirmation, a biopsy is necessary.
There is no proper treatment of this disease as usually happens in case of cancer. Early detection of this disease is not usually possible and the research regarding this is still going on.
